Xbrand XB-1001 360 Height Adjustable Laptop Stand

This product has two major flaws:
1. The ‘ergonomic’ label is only applicable with an external keyboard. Used alone, any ‘ergonomic’ quality is contradicted by the front shelf, which is meant to hold the laptop in place when the stand is at angles greater than 90 degrees. However, the shelf is wide enough (~ 9 in) and high enough (~2 in) and has sharp corners that press into the wrists and can interfere with blood flow to the hands. (Not to mention being very uncomfortable.) The size of the shelf doesn’t really show up in the product photos. Not really possible to unlock it and keep it laid flat, as the laptop slides forward out of the cradle.
2. The stand is not stable from front to back. When a laptop is placed on it and you put your hands on the keyboard, the stand tips forward slightly until it touches down in front. There is no counterbalancing weight to keep the whole thing solid. The wobble action is very distracting.
3. While not a major flaw, the ‘360-degree movement’ is provided not by a neck joint in the stand itself but by four wheels underneath the stand that allow the whole thing to be rolled to another angle. These wheels contribute to the lack of front-back stability.
I like to use a laptop because it allows me to compute in different locations. Being limited to an external keyboard by a less-than-versatile laptop stand seems pointless.
I’ll be returning mine in favor of something that can accommodate two wrists ergonomically.

I like this laptop stand but its mainly to be used on a hard flat surface, I used it one time when I was cooking and looking at the recipe online and this elevated my laptop high enough if I spill something it wont get my PC wet(I rarely used mine). I set on the bed most of the time with my laptop. I bought a lap desk from a local store that I used all the time with a built in light and a mouse pad.

Pluses: the revolving and rolling base is great. The raised bar in front allows access to headphone ports if you happen to have them there. Works well with my XPS 1530.
Negatives: There are only four positions, including the lowest and highest. The settings above desk level: 4 inches, 6 inches, 7 inches, 8 inches. I need it to be 5, so I have to set it either an inch too low, or an inch too high. 1/2 inch increments are needed for ergonomic health. Also, it is made of hard, brittle plastic that easily cracks if dropped. Not for rowdy households.

There is not much to say about this product other than “it does what it says”
No complexities, simple design, pretty sturdy too.
Buy this if you want to raise the height of your laptop screen.

I ordered the stand without the fan, but I received the stand with the fan instead. Even though it was a mistake, it was a good one. The fan is a step up, and they didn’t charge me any more.
About the product itself: what I found interesting was that the entire stand rotates on 4 hidden, diagonal wheels. They don’t seem to be hurting my desktop.
Yes, this stand only has 4 height positions, but I haven’t had a problem with that.
I can understand how Macbook users would find the highest position to be too high, since Macbooks don’t open as widely as PC laptops. But it’s fine for my PC laptop, even though my laptop has a big fat battery pack raising it even more.
Yes, it tends raise the laptop too high for typing ergonomically, but I wanted to use a separate keyboard and mouse anyway.
By the way, the fan stand is the same as the fan-less stand in all respects as far as I can tell (except for the fan of course).
The fan is powered by a 1 foot USB cord that plugs into your laptop and then into the back of the base, so it is completely removable. (if you get the fan one)
