I found this to be a very bright lantern for its size. I did not like the relatively short life of the two AA batteries – approximately 4 hours. I purchased it for emergency purposes and find the short life disconserting. I purchased it as a lantern, so the poor flashlight light output wasn’t a factor.

Just got this today. The Lantern portion is great. Super Bright, has a good radius, and you could easily read by it. The flashlight portion is dimmer than other single-LED flashlights I own, so I would recommend buying it if you intend to use it as a lantern primarily and flashlight secondary.
It’s not shown in the product page, but the base of the flashlight is magnetic, so you can stick it to any surface you can put a magnet on (or use another magnet to attach it to a tent wall or something). A handy feature that was nice to learn about. It’s not exceptionally strong, but should be sufficient, will hold the weight of the flashlight.
However, it advertises a red emergency flasher. If it does this, It’s not listed on the package and I can’t figure out how to turn this feature on. If you are looking for a red, emergency flasher, don’t get this!
If I were rating it as only a lantern, it would be 5 stars, the flashlight is maybe a 3-4. I haven’t tested it being used for an extended period, so I don’t know how it is on battery consumption, but LEDs tend to be good about not using a lot of power.
