Math Blaster in the Prime Adventure

This was the first game my grandson put into his new DS. It was also the game he was still playing late on Christmas Day.
Rating: 5 / 5
We gave this to our son at Christmas to be used for practice as an alternative to paperwork during his homeschool days. At first he was NOT happy at the idea. However, the day he finally opened it up and gave it a try he was instantly pleased.
He tells me the story line is weak but the games are really fun and he gets completely excited and shouts out answers while he’s playing. He actually asks to play this game.

I bought this along with several other educational games for my kids. They love their DS’s and thought it would be great instead of just adventure games. I tried most of their games and have thoroughly enjoyed them but this one, I was ready to turn it off right after the first ‘mission’. I will let my kids try it this afternoon but I am not impressed. It is so difficult to navigate and you spend more time trying to get around in the game than thinking of math problems. Bought Bookworm and loved it. Simple, to-the-point, and you can concentrate on making words. Not this, too much time trying to navigate the goofy thing. If kids don’t like, will be returning it today.

My grandson got bored with this game early because of the initial stage where you add the numbers to blast it was much to easy and getting to the target was much to hard. I wouldn’t recommend this game as it gives no incentive to continue to play and there is no way to adjust the level that you start on, and if you can not blast the first target objective you stay on the basic level.
