I ordered this watch and it stopped working within 24 hours of arriving. I never even took it out of the box. I am returning it. Very unhappy with this purchase.

I have been thinking about purchasing this watch, but have several questions before I decided to buy:
1. How long does the luminous hands and markers stay luminated (i.e. 1 minute, 1 hours, 5 hours, etc.?)
2. One of the review in amazon said that the strap emits unpleasant odor that he has to replace it with an aftermarket band, is this true?

The reviews on this watch are unbelievable. I guess there are a lot of Seiko employees. This watch keeps horrible time. I want to send it back for repair but Seiko says that + or – 20 seconds a day is normal! I have had other automatics and this is unacceptable. Mine is fast by 30 seconds a day! Do the math after a month you will be ahead 15 minutes! 10 minutes a month is apparently acceptable to Seiko. Not me, don’t buy.

I bought this watch for my husband, and he’s been happy with everything about it except for the fact that it will stop running if you don’t wear it often enough. Since he switches watches, he sometimes doesn’t wear it for a few days and has to re-set it. Had I known this, I probably would’ve bought a model that you don’t have to wear to keep running, but other than that, it’s well built and he seems to like the face size, band, etc. If you will only be wearing this watch, you should be fine.

If you don’t wear this watch for a couple of days, you will have to reset it before use. I have a watch for daily use, so this happens opten. I liked the old battery operated Seiko Dive watch I had for 17 years better.
